"Bianca"

I wanted to make this painting very delicate and to highlight the beauty of this girl by creating a kind of glow around her.

"Bianca", 17x23cm, oil on board

  1. Hello Marielle,
I found your blog via Em at Dartmoor Ramblings. What beautiful paintings!
With the portraits, do you work from life or from photos, or maybe both?
Thank you for sharing your art with us.

  2. Hi! Thank you, I'm really happy that you like my work :) I always try to paint from life as much as I can (because you can learn so much more from 3 dimensions), but I also use reference photos and my imagination to create my own vision. :)

  3. Your work is so lovely... this girl looks like an angel! I paint in monochrome a fair bit and I love the effect :0)

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Sandra. :) I paint a lot in brownish monochrome like this one, because I love the atmosphere it creates.
